I have noticed there are a lot of cute little Shih Tzus around Austin and N. Austin. My husband and I adopted one in 1992, there wasn't much information about this breed back then. We fell hopelessly in love with her. She became our second child. (Shih Tuzs have that quality.) We lost her to cancer after having her in our lives for nine and half years. Since retiring to Texas 3 years ago, my husband and I now have a Grand pup, Riley. He has a great laid back personality. Never seen a dog tha …

RuffTail Runners (formerly "Jog-a-Dog") is a program brought to you by Team Spiridon, that encourages runners to run with shelter dogs, giving the dogs a little more exercise “off-campus”, away from the stressful shelter environment. As a result, they are better-adjusted, healthier, and therefore, more adoptable. This program is for runners, or at least walkers who can get the dogs out for a few miles - higher paces keep the dogs more focused and gives them more exercise, and makes some of them …

This group is designed to educate, inform, and enlighten. I am a veterinarian in Austin and I know how difficult it is for both veterinarians and pet owners to cover all topics during one visit. We know that you want the best for your pet and so do we. This group is not meant to be in place of veterinary visits or veterinary care but to supplement and inform. We will get together once a month and discuss a pre-set topic, for about an hour. Please DO NOT bring your pet or ask specific questions a …

Let's get together for some good conversation and dog play/exercise. I started this because there just aren't any groups that I could find for Mutts aka Designer Dogs, as I call mine. Only the Pit Bull group stated that pit mixes were ok but that left my Sharp-Pei rescue out. I started this group because I wanted to meet others who have chosen to give their hearts & homes to dogs that sometimes are totally left out. We can meet at the Round Rock Dog Depot for the first meeting and since I'm new …
