Good morning all! I have a one year old seven pound female Chihuahua for adoption. Rain is an incredibly sweet dog, but I feel like she lives in her crate and would be better suited for a stay at home person who can love on her and play with her or just sit and watch t.v. on the couch together, or sleep under a comfy blanket together.
Rain is fully vaccinated, and had nails cut and rounded yesterday so won't be due for another month and would be adopted with her crate, water bottle for crate, and her bed, and clothes and toys and food, and food dish and collar and leash and bones from Pets Mart that she loves. I will NOT adopt her out to a family who believes it is EVER okay to hit a dog or intends for her to be an outside dog. Rain never bites anyone or nail techs at the dog salon, but may growl at another dog if she is jealous. Rain has severe separation anxiety and if you leave her in a room for five minutes will dig at the carpet, so she is crated for any time I am not with her. I have a ton of pictures for any serious inquiries. She chases cats only if she is feeling jealous if they're in the room with her but won't hurt them. Rain barks at horses or dogs outside if she sees them, otherwise she is quiet. Rain is an escape artist, and can climb over a baby gate or out of a pack and play, or a metal outdoor dog play area (without roof of course). I have tried everything to make it so she wouldn't have to be in her crate while I'm at work but except for her gated crate or a secure dog run she can get out of any other enclosure. Rain wears a washable dog diaper which you can line with feminine napkins(which will come with her) when she is indoors in case she is tempted to mark, but otherwise will go outside or on a pad, but like all dogs if not let out in time will have an accident, and I NEVER yell or hit or scold her for this per my vet this serves no purpose and is only cruel and hurtful and confusing to a sensitive breed dog. Please do not misunderstand, this is like giving my child up for adoption, but it hurts my heart that this kind, gentle, loving dog is essentially living her life in her crate because of my work hours and commute and need to sleep in between. I just want to find a family that will love and care for her and never hit her or take her to the pound. |

Dear Samantha,
Poor Rain. Have you found a new home yet, 24th March 2008? We are located in Melbourne Australia and would be prepared to take her into our home for full time care and loving, as this is what we do, irregadless of the age of the Chihuahua. Are you located in Australia? I will be watching this message board for your reply. Regards from Rita |
